​Kingdom House and Carnival
To start the day we once again went over to Kingdom house and ate breakfast with the kids. Next we set up for a carnival for kids ages 3-5 and after we were set up we played with the kids who are 1 and 2. With the youngest of the kids we played with chalk and bubbles. But on the other hand with the older kids we played ball toss, water balloon toss, a sponge and bucket game, and at a water station. All of us ACE students were soaked! After all of this went on we picked up the mess and came back to the house for lunch.  

Groceries
Once we finished the carnival and lunch we did a learning experience lesson that had to do with budgeting while your shopping. During this activity we simulated shopping for a family of six for 3 days on a budget. We were on 2 teams and went to 2 different stores that were very different. We then met back at the house and compared our meals and prices.

End of the day
Once we finished everything we came back to the house and will soon be ordering pizza. Then we will do a quick reflection.

To start out the day we hung out and ate breakfast with the kids at Kingdom House. Then, as our service for the day we took a trip to Walmart to buy supplies. The supplies went for care packages for new mothers and materials for the children's carnival we are putting on for Kingdom House tomorrow. Then we rode the bus and metro train back. When we rode to Walmart we took the vans which took 20 minutes, while taking public transportation took an hour and 10 minutes. This show that having your own vehicle can make trips and errands way easier.  Next, we came back for lunch. We did a quick reflection and put the care packages together. Then we prepared to go to the Arch. Last, we went up in the Arch. Tonight Emma and Abby are making breakfast for dinner including pancakes, sausage, tator tots and eggs. Our night will then once again end with a group reflection and game.

​Service
Next, our group split up jobs in the garden including harvesting, watering, planting, and weeding. After, we made our way over to one of the Peter and Paul facilities. They supply homes and support for people chronically homeless. There, we listened to a man's story about how Peter and Paul helped him after he was homeless for 9 years. After, we complete a quick service of making sandwiches for the homeless men in another facility.

​Museum
Last, we went to a "museum" which was the most elaborate playground/ jungle gym we've ever seen. Complete with a 10 story slide and ferris wheel on the roof. Tonight Allie, Kaylie, Kaylee, Alex, Joey, and Mathew are making Mac and Cheese and hot dogs. Then we will have a team meeting and play a group game before bed. ​

 Today we walked over to Kingdom House and ate breakfast with the kids. Next, we sang and danced along with them and Emma, Alex, Joey, and Abby lead a read aloud. One of the songs we sang was about building up your self esteem along with the others around you. Third, we took some time to participated in a learning activity that focused on understanding the lives of the kids we are working with. Then, we planned an upcoming carnival for the summer camp. Then visited the Missouri Science Museum. Lastly, we came home and Adam and Andrew cooked a taco dinner. Later in the night we plan on having a meeting, playing a game and celebrating Kaylie's birthday.

It was a fun trip down. We arrived at about 6:00. The group got situated in their rooms, chose their jobs, and went grocery shopping. Getting ready for a busy day tomorrow!
